Originally from #switzerland, grew up in #papuanewguinea and now I call #israel home. Six years ago my husband and I moved from #zurich to #telaviv with our three children. It started with an impossible idea: end human trafficking and forced #prostitution. Out of the many men, women, and minors who are trapped in forced prostitution here in Israel, 76% of people interviewed want to leave, but feel trapped due to a lack of #employability skills, #finances, and #education. For most, finding a #job is an almost impossible task. That is where we come into it. We founded @kitepride_tlv in Tel Aviv, a social business that provides safe rehabilitation #employment by creating #upcycled #bags. Each unique, one-of-a-kind upcycled bag is sewn in our safe working #environment by a #survivor of prostitution and #human trafficking. We receive the old and broken #kites, #parachutes, yacht sails and #wetsuits from the large #surf community in Israel and everyone is happy to contribute to making both the environment and #society a little bit better. My whole #goal is to #inspire others to be the change they want to see in the #world.
