My dream was to live in Israel and get into the IDF Special Forces. Although I didn’t get a formal invite to the tryouts, I showed up anyway eager to fulfill my life dream.

My #dream was to live in Israel and get into the #IDF Special Forces. Although I didn’t get a formal invite to the tryouts, I showed up anyway eager to fulfill my life dream. The army staff was so shocked by my #perseverance, they decided to give me a chance. After a grueling process of tryouts, I made it into a special #commando #unit, and served three years there as a #combat #soldier.

Those three years were among the most challenging and rewarding of my #life. It was hard adjusting as a new immigrant, and I perhaps missed out on valuable years to further a conventional #career, as many of my friends overseas were doing. But I have no regrets, and I know that the experiences and challenges I faced will accompany me for years to come.

I am happily #married to my wonderful #wife Neta, and in 2020 our beautiful son, Hadar, was born. 2020 was a strange and difficult year for many with #Covid, but for us it was a year of family growth and blessings.

In my free time I can be found #mountain #biking around Jerusalem’s beautiful hills. Getting out on the #bike is a great way to continue to #explore and feel a #connection to this amazing #land. There are some amazing #trails all around the country, from the #desert in the #south to extreme downhill in the north. Wherever you are in Israel, you’re probably not far from some great trails!”
