"About five years ago I combined my two passions of military history and diplomacy and started Israel Security Tours"

I grew up in North Miami Beach, Florida. I felt eerily at home on my first visit to Israel the summer between third and fourth grade. I know it may sound crazy, but I knew then I would end up living here.

As a child I was consumed with Israeli military history, and would always dress up as an IDF Paratrooper for Purim. In 1993, during my first year of law school, I was reading the New York Times and there was a front-page article describing how four Israeli paratroopers lying in an ambush in Southern Lebanon were killed in a friendly fire incident. That incident, some 6,000 miles away, proved to be a watershed moment in my life.

I dropped out of law school, and four months later, volunteered for the Paratroopers. As luck would have it, I ended up serving in the same battalion as those paratroopers who were killed in the friendly fire incident. Twenty-eight years later, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, I am still active in the IDF Reserves.

spent many years as a track two diplomat, negotiating on behalf of Israeli Prime Ministers with neighboring heads of state. It was fascinating. Flying on private jets and helicopters, brokering cease fires, drafting documents for review by prime ministers and kings- who could ask for a better job.

About five years ago I combined my two passions of military history and diplomacy and started Israel Security Tours. I enjoy explaining to visitors Israel’s complex security environment. On my tours, I show my clients the complex security issues that the State of Israel faces in today’s challenging and ever-changing Middle East. Whether it is touring historic battle sites, understanding Israel’s current border threats, or delving into complex issues such as East Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria, my guests leave the country with a better understanding and appreciation of the issues facing Israel than they did before they arrived.”
