Galila Mazareb

The Bedouin’s way of living can be shown as a model to a cohesive and positive existence together

I offer a fascinating experience in my backyard, which combines an overview of Bedouin society, past changes, the status of women, integration into Israel, cooking and culinary workshops.

The last few months have been unconventional and uneasy for all of us given the situation.

In 2015, I opened the Galila Bedouin Hospitality in the northern village of Zarzir, where I present the history of the Bedouin society that combines a culinary experience.

I started this business because I wanted to change the direction. It was bothering me that people were perceiving the Bedouin in the wrong way, with the stigmas of a tent, a camel and desert alone. That may be partially true, but that is not the essence of who we are. There are many things beyond. I tell the story of the Bedouin from when the state was founded until today and the changes that they have made as a society. The Bedouin’s way of living can be shown as a model to a cohesive and positive existence together. I also focus on the story of the Bedouin woman in the north and the changes in society they have undergone in terms of education. At my home I present the Bedouin story, my personal experience and our traditional foods.
