Glad to meet you! I live in the Jezreel Valley in Kibbutz Kfar HaHoresh, which is close to the city of Nazareth, the largest Arab city in the country.
The kibbutz was established by the Gordonia group in 1933. The members of the kibbutz barely survived and suffered from very difficult living conditions, and after the war of Independence, in 1949, another group of people came here to strengthen the locals. Today the kibbutz has about 700 residents and enjoys a thriving community life.
Life here in the valley is an example and role model for a life of harmony between Jews and Arabs.
Everyday examples such as – shared learning of Jews and Arabs in schools and kindergartens, shared trade and deep dialogues.
These are all parts of our life here in the valley.
I invite you to come for a spectacular view of the entire valley, We’ll see the mountains of Gilad, Mount Tabor, Nazareth, the Samaria ridge and Mount Carmel.
After the observation, we will enter the Kfar HaHoresh forest and practice meditation of relaxation and healing together. We will end with a prayer of peace for us and the people of the area.
From here we will meet people in-depth dialogue sessions. People whose life experiences has brought them to dark places, which from those experiences they have transformed their acts to love.
People like – Yosef from Nazareth- An Arab who enlisted in the IDF and almost lost his life in the Lebanon War.
Jalila from Zarzir- A Bedouin woman who educates her children in Jewish education, divorced ,an assertive and independent woman.
Naama from Kfar HaHoresh,
who lost her parents during their immigration from Yemen to Eretz Israel walking by foot. Later adopted by a family in a kibbutz.
Shmuel from Migdal Haemek Who immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia by foot and learned to be proud of his origin.
Salah from Hilf- A Bedouin who has been sculpting wood and more.
The Valley is a Dream project
that involves healing and love for ourselves and society.
